Accepting New Children
Camelot for Children is now welcoming applications for participants between the ages of 6–19 who have been diagnosed with a terminal, chronic, or serious illness, or who have serious, chronic and/or terminal illnesses.
Minimum Requirements
To ensure a safe and enriching environment, children must meet the following criteria:
- Be 6–19 years of age
- Be independent with bathroom use, dressing, and feeding
If a child is not independent in these areas, they may still be eligible if accompanied by a qualified caregiver. Caregivers must be able to fully support the child’s needs and must not rely on assistance from Camelot staff or volunteers.
Participation Limitations
Camelot is committed to providing a joyful, supportive space for children whose needs align with our mission. To ensure safety and a positive experience for all, we unfortunately cannot accept children who:
- Are at risk of eloping
- Exhibit abusive behavior, inappropriate language, or self-injurious actions
- Avoid social interaction
- Cannot tolerate loud noises
- Struggle with authority or changes in routine
- Have a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder
These limitations apply even if a caregiver is present.

Application Process
If your child meets the basic criteria, an application may be offered. Final acceptance is determined at the discretion of our committee, based on:
- The child’s individual needs
- Our ability to provide a safe, positive experience for all participants
Support for Families
Camelot offers more than just a place for children to thrive—it’s also a space for parents, grandparents, and guardians to find respite, a sense of normalcy, and a community that truly understands their journey.
